How do I create an account?

There are a few ways to join our community! If you’re not logged in and try to purchase an image it will give you an option to create an account. Another way is navigate to the homepage, and in the top right corner you’ll find an icon to log in (the little person icon). If you haven’t created an account you can select ‘Create Account’ in that pop up and go from there. If you’re still having trouble creating an account please get in touch.

How do I upgrade my membership/can I change my membership plan?

Not enough images? No worries! You can change/upgrade your plan at any time. Just head to your account dashboard, select 'View Subscriptions' and then upgrade! For more info on Subscriptions click HERE

Didn’t receive your account verification email?

No problem. Try checking your spam folder (and make sure to mark as not spam for future emails!). If it’s still not there after a few minutes, please get in touch.

How do I update my personal account information?

Navigate your way to the ‘My Account’ tab located at the top right corner of the page (the little person icon) and select. There will be an option to update information in the 'Account Settings' tab. Once you have finished, click the 'Update Details' tab at the bottom of the page.

How do I view my order history?

Go into ‘My Account’ tab located at the top right corner of the page (little person icon) and select Order History. From there you can view all orders, or select each order individually.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Why you’d want to cancel is beyond us but if you really want to, you will find an option to cancel your subscription in you account settings under the 'View Subscriptions' tab on the left hand side. Once you cancel your membership all membership benefits end. You will still be able to access your already purchased images but all remaining downloads will be unavailable and you will have to purchase images as a non member.We will miss you! For more info on Subscriptions click HERE

Does my subscription auto-renew?

Sure does! Until you cancel your membership, it will auto-­renew at each anniversary payment date (monthly). You will be notified before each payment is due to be collected. Easy!  For more info on Subscriptions click HERE

How do I use my monthly images?

Once you have added an image to your cart and proceeded to checkout, in the payment options you then need to select between Credit Card or Monthly Downloads, select Monthly Downloads. Proceed with checkout. If you don't see the option to pay using monthly downloads, make sure you are logged in or have downloads (monthly images) left on your account. If you're still having trouble please get in touch.

Why does the image have a price value even though i have a monthly subscription?

The price attached to each image when you have a subscription is there to indicate the value of the image. AFTER you use up all your monthly images, any further images you wish to purchase are at the image value of your subscription i.e $35 - 10 images = $3.50 an image. You get 10 monthly images at no extra cost to the subscription, any images purchased after the initial 10 are offered at a discounted rate of $3.50. For more info on Subscriptions click HERE

What happens when I use up my downloads for the month?

You can still download images - you just need to purchase them individually. Don’t worry though ­- they won’t cost any more than they do within your membership (and in each membership you get a special discounted price). If you find yourself constantly running out of image monthly downloads, it might be time to upgrade! For more info on Subscriptions click HERE

What happens if I don’t use all my monthly images?

They won’t disappear! All unused images roll over each month for a total of four months and stay in your account until you change/upgrade or cancel your subscription. Once you cancel your membership all membership benefits end. You will still be able to access your already purchased images but all remaining downloads will be unavailable. Can I get a refund on an image or subscription?

All image and membership sales are final. Unless there are unique circumstances, each enquiry will be taken case by case. If you have a query or would like to submit a refund enquiry please get in touch.

What are the benefits of having a membership?

All membership options have access to unlimited support, exclusive VIP content, and your own image download library. The images you purchase on top of your monthly downloads are also priced accordingly to your chosen membership. PLUS you get exclusive discounts on artist bundle packs. Convinced? Join us here. 

If I cancel my subscription, can I still use any leftover downloads in my account?

No sorry - once you cancel your membership all membership benefits end. You will still be able to access your already purchased images but all remaining downloads will be unavailable and you will have to purchase images as a non member. Can I use the images I purchase after I cancel my subscription?

Yes, as long as you have an account with us (free or subscribed) you will still have access to your library of purchased images.

How do I get my first month subscription for 98% off?

Once you add the subscription you're wanting to purchase to the cart it will take you to the checkout. Create an account/or Login, enter all of your personal details and credit card details. On the right hand side on the checkout you'll be asked to enter a Coupon/Gift Certificate. In that field, enter JOINR87. This will apply the discount code! How can I purchase an image?

Firstly, you need to create an account. Don’t worry, you don’t need to commit to a membership straight away but we do need your details to create a place for all your images to live. Browse through thousands of unique images in our library to find your ideal reference. Click on the image you’d like to purchase and there will be two options: purchase straight away or subscribe to a membership. Either option will take you to a payment gateway and lead you through step by step to complete your purchase.

How do I download an image?

Once you’ve purchased your image it will be automatically added to your personal library (found in 'My Account'), where you can download your images directly. You can do this by heading to your Account Dashboard, clicking the order and then selecting the 'Re-Download' button. The download should start straight away. On top of this you’ll also receive an email with an automatic download link straight to your inbox! Double whammy!

What do I do if my email download link isn’t working?

If the link doesn’t work when you click on it, try copying and paste it into your browser search bar. You can also access your orders through your Account Dashboard and "My Orders" (as above for downloading images).  If it is STILL not working please get in touch.

What resolution are the images?

All images are of the highest resolution we can achieve. Back piece? No problem.

Do I need to buy a membership to download an image?

Nope! All images are available to purchase without a membership - you do still need to create an account so you can store your purchases - but a membership isn’t necessary. You do get images a lot cheaper if you subscribe. So why not join us?

How many times can I download an image?

All purchased images have unlimited re-­downloads. Winning!

Can I purchase a single image from a pack?

Some images from Artist Bundle Packs will be available for purchase as a single image. However, some of the more complex and specialist concepts will be available exclusively as a set.

What file types can I download?

All the images you download will be high quality, high resolution JPEGS.

The image is blurred on the website, will that change once I download it?

Absolutely! The images are slightly blurred to try and prevent theft. After you purchase an image you will receive the high resolution crystal clear version of it.

Is the image I purchase exclusively mine?

No - all images in the Reference87 library are available for purchase and download by anyone with an account or membership. However, once you purchase an image it’s yours to put your own creative spin on!

Can I edit the images I purchase?

Absolutely - we highly encourage you to take the image and make it yours! Don’t forget to tag us in your work too @Reference_87 and hashtag #MADEWITHR87 so we can see what you come up with! 

Help! I'm having trouble downloading my bundle pack.

Please note that the Bundle Packs come as a zipped folder, so downloading and unzipping on a mobile or iPad can start to get a little tricky. Sometimes it may be as easy as saving it to your 'Files' (for iPhones) but if you're still having trouble, there are certain apps you can download for Apple and Android that can help you out - a quick google will let you know everything you need! If you've tried everything and it's still not working - please get in touch and we will help you out :)

What is a license/creative license?

Each image has an artist license attached to it that lets you know what you legally can and cannot do with them. This is to protect both you, the artist who created the image, and us from any unnecessary disagreements and misuse of our images.

What License do I need?

Each image comes with our standard artist license; this covers using the image for creative use and manipulation only. If you want to use the image for advertising, selling, merchandise and any other business ventures you’re going to need a commercial license. For more info about this and to apply for a commercial licence please get in touch. Please note that applying for a commercial license does not guarantee it will be accepted; ultimately this decision is up to the artist whose work it is.

Can I use an image I purchase as part of my company logo or brand?

No. Well... you can, but it’s gonna cost you extra. Get in touch if you’d like to enquire.

Do all images have model releases?

Every image with a model requires a signed model release. ­If you would like to request this release please email us.

Where and how can I use my images?

This will depend on the license you purchased the image under. All of our images come with a standard artist license, but if you need something a little extra you can find all of our extra licensing info here. 

What licenses do you offer on images?

We offer a variety of different licenses depending on your needs! Each image comes with a standard artist license. You can find all of our licensing terms here. And it you're after a custom license, drop us a line here.

Do I need to add a photographer/artist credit?

You don’t need to credit the images you purchase, but we’d love it if you tag us in your work - @Reference_87 and hashtag #MADEWITHR87 so we (and the rest of the Reference87 community) can see what you create!

What are the different purchasing options?

You can purchase your image with or without a membership; we accept PayPal, and all major Debit and Credit Cards.

Which payment options can I use to purchase images or a membership?

We accept all major Debit and Credit Cards. We also accept PayPal. If you have a question or problem processing payments please email us.

Is Reference87 available in my country?

Yes! Reference87 was made to be used by artists and creatives all around the globe. If you're on the map, we've got you!

How do I purchase one image?

Purchasing single images is standard throughout the site, the only exception being bundle packs! Refer back to 'How Do I Purchase An Image' for step by step.

Can I purchase a membership and gift it?

Not yet - we’re still working on a clever way for you to share the love with your friends! Stay tuned for updates.

Am I allowed to send my images to others?

Once you purchase your image we can’t stop you from sharing them with your friends. But why would you want others to have the same references as you? Let them get their own ;)

How do I contribute?

We definitely want to hear from you! You can get in touch with us directly by sending us an email or to make the process more streamlined fill out our contributors form here. We're also all ears on Instagram too so don't be shy and send us a DM to get the ball rolling :)

What are the requirements to become a contributor?

If you have a keen eye, and passion for photography we want to hear from you! Just send us through some samples of your images or link to your social/portfolio and we're good to go.

What kind of content can I sell on Reference87?

At the moment we’re focusing on building our image library to be the best it can be, but if you think you have a cool new innovative idea that isn't an image we’re all ears!! Aside from that you can submit any type of image idea you think would work well in the Reference87 library. Keen to show us? Drop us a line here.

Can I suggest an image?

We’d love you to! You can never have too many good ideas and we want to hear yours. You can suggest images you want to see in the Reference87 library here.

Do you have an affiliate programme?

Can anyone contribute their own photos to Reference87? 

Anyone is welcome to submit their photos but it doesn't guarantee they will be accepted onto the site. We carefully select submitted images ourselves to make sure Reference87 is at the highest standard it can be at all times; this also prevents 'double ups' in visually similar images and maintains our consistently high quality images across the board. Once your photos are approved we will notify you, upload them to the site to be available for download and you'll start earning from them!

How much do contributors earn? 

Contributors earn a 60% commission on the cost their images/packs are sold for.

How are contributors paid for their commission?

All contributors are paid monthly by PayPal. All payments made by us are in US Dollars.

How long does it take for my photos to be approved/rejected? 

We check over each individual photo that is submitted to ensure we're approving the best of the best, so it's hard to say exactly how long it'll take. It could be overnight, or it could be a couple of weeks - but we will be in touch regularly to keep you updated as much as we can. 

Why were my photos rejected?

If a photo you submitted is 'rejected' by us - that's not on you! It's usually for one of the following reasons: low resolution, lack of detail or clarity, too grainy, poor lighting (that cannot be fixed in post-pro), unappealing pose/expression/angle, there is already a very visually similar image on the site. Generally we will tell you exactly why the image was not selected once we notify you of selected/rejected images.

How will I know if my images have been sold? 

At the beginning of each month we will send you a sales report for the previous month which will include all of your 'products', how many have been sold, and how much commission you've earned.

Can I remove my photos from the site if I want to?

You sure can! If at any time you'd like to remove your images from our library please contact us info@reference87.com and we can remove them for you. We'll be sad to see them go! :(

Photographers 

Reference87 offers high resolution photo downloads for artists to use a reference for their artwork. When you submit your photos to this website, it is understood that you give your permission for your photos (if accepted) to be downloaded/purchased by artists to use as reference for their artwork. You, as the original photographer, always retains the copyright to your photos. You must only submit photos that you have taken, for which you own the copyright for, and not photos taken by anyone else.
