Ben has been tattooing all over the world for the last 10 years. Specialising in realism for 5 of those years. Over time he started to develop a love for photography and crafting his own unique references. Taking a concept full circle from idea, to photo, to tattoo. Wanting to share this passion and knowledge with the tattoo community - he decided to start Reference87.

Taylor; originally from a background of Social Media, Ecommerce, and Design started her Reference87 journey as Ben’s Personal Assistant and Studio Manager. Quick to realise that she wanted to do more for the creative community, Ben tossed around the idea of Reference87 with Taylor and she was more than happy to jump on board.

After weeks of constant discussion and brainstorming sessions they brought the idea of providing a platform for artists to access thousands of unique, high quality images to life. The journey to launching Reference87 was far from smooth - a constant learning experience for everyone involved - but worth it to better help bring the creative community together and provide a dedicated platform for artists to utilise.
